Pinch
Compress a photo to 20 KB, 50 KB, or 100 KB
Pinch is a free image compressor for anyone submitting a form, email, or listing that rejects a large photo. It runs on your phone or computer, and the picture never leaves your device.
Stays on this device. Nothing is uploaded.
How to use it
- Tap the box and choose one photo from your camera roll or files.
- Pick the size the form asked for: 20, 50, 100, 200, or 500 KB.
- Tap Save photo. On a phone, that opens the share sheet so you can store it or attach it.
Sizes people actually need
- 20 KB. Tight exam portals and some passport or ID uploads. The picture will be small, but it will pass the limit.
- 50 KB and 100 KB. The usual cap on government forms, visa photo slots, and job applications.
- 200 KB and 500 KB. Enough for email, chat, and marketplace listings when the original from the camera is several megabytes.
What Pinch does not do
It does not remove a background, crop to a passport ratio, add filters, or change who is in the photo. It only makes the file small enough to upload. A phone photo that is already under your limit is left as-is when it is already a JPG.
Questions
Does my photo get uploaded?
No. Pinch shrinks the picture inside your browser. Refresh the page and it is gone. There is no account and no copy stored anywhere else.
What size should I pick?
Use 20 KB for strict exam and some passport uploads, 50 KB or 100 KB for most government and job forms, and 200 KB when email or a marketplace just needs a lighter photo.
Why is the saved file a JPG?
Forms, email, and listing sites almost always want a JPG. A photo saved as JPG is much smaller than the same photo saved as PNG, at the highest quality that still fits your limit.
Will the photo look ruined?
Pinch keeps the sharpest version that fits. It would rather make the picture a bit smaller in pixels than crush it into a blurry square. If a limit is very tight, some softness is unavoidable.
My gallery photo failed. What now?
Some phones store pictures as HEIC. Open the photo in your gallery, save or export it as a JPG, then drop that file here.
Is this free?
Yes. One photo, one size, one save. No signup and no settings.
